Fun Shack to open £3m Newcastle trampoline & play centre

Fun Shack is to create 100 jobs at a new £3m, 70,000 sq ft trampoline and play centre at Benfield in Newcastle, which will open this winter.

Based on the Benfield Business Park, the giant family lesiure site will feature a 150-bed Jump 360 trampoline park, a Fun Shack play centre, including one of the biggest play frames in Europe, a laser tag arena, go karts, canon arena, high ropes course and toddler village. There will also be airbags, foam pits, ziplines, dodgeball courts and ninja assault courses, plus a cafe.

Jump 360 Benfield will be the largest trampoline park in the North East and the second Newcastle-based site for the company, the first will open in Benton in July 2017.

The Fun Shack Group was founded 14 years ago by brothers Stuart and Craig Freeman and their partners Georgette and Andrea, after being inspired to open a large-scale children’s activity centre while on a family holiday in America.

Since then, the firm has grown the group to operate three separate family indoor leisure businesses including Fun Shack, based in Seaham and Stockton, Clip ‘N Climb, based in Stockton, and Jump 360, currently situated in Stockton, Hartlepool and Benton from July.
