State-of-the-art leisure centre planned for NW Leicestershire

North West Leicestershire District Council has unveiled proposals to replace Hermitage Leisure Centre in Coalville with a new state-of-the-art facility at a site off Stephenson Way.

The new site would include an eight-court sports hall, eight lane 25-metre pool, and 15m x 8.5-metre learner pool with moveable floor.

Other facilities planned are a health and fitness suite with 150 pieces of equipment, multi-activity studio, spin studio, and three squash courts.

For food and beverages, a cafe/bar and vending areas would feature, plus a 250-space car park.

Once the new site is signed off, the council will look to find an operator to design, build, operate and maintain the leisure centre. The management of both the new leisure centre and Hood Park Leisure Centre in Ashby de la Zouch would transfer to this provider.
