The Ivy planned for Winchester

Troia Restaurants has submitted plans to open a branch of The Ivy on Winchester's high street, creating 100 new jobs.

The unit was occupied by clothes brand LK Bennett, but it closed its doors in September due to high rent and business rates.

If approved, the new Ivy will be open for breakfast from 8am until the evening. The ground floor will feature the restaurant, while there will be office space on the first, second and third floors.

Winchester City Council is set to make a decision on the application on 13 November

The Ivy currently operates the long-standing iconic restaurant in Covent Garden, as well as 10 sites branded The Ivy Grills & Brasseries - six new sites planned, and four The Ivy Cafe branded branches - one new site planned.
