Boutique Brighton guest house changes hands

Stylish boutique guest house, Nineteen, in the popular area of Kemp Town in Brighton, has been sold by Christie & Co, off an asking price of £899,950.

The four-storey period venue, which had seen a significant refurbishment in 2014, offers eight en-suite guest bedrooms. The signature Courtyard Room features a beautiful Japanese garden with a wooden bath tub, and an eclectic private collection of contemporary artwork showcasing works by Brighton-based, UK and international artists.

Having been in the same ownership for 15 years and with a solid and enviable reputation, Mark McCullough leaves the guest house in great shape for new first time buyers, Daniel Jones and Liam Beauchamp, to take the reins.

From Christie & Co’s Maidstone office, Andrew Moore, who was handling the sale, commented, “This was a fantastic opportunity to acquire a well established guest house within the flamboyant small community of Kemp Town.

“We were delighted to have facilitated the sale to Daniel and Liam, who will no doubt continue to take the business from strength to strength and we wish them success for the future.'
