The Balcon launches new breakfast menu


As breakfast and brunch are rapidly becoming the most popular meals of the day, The Balcon, based in the Sofitel London St James, is launching a new breakfast menu.

A series of egg dishes are all made with high welfare Clarence Court eggs and include Akuri (delicately spiced scrambled eggs) with Grilled Avocado & Homemade Butter Bun, and Poached Lobster & Caviar Omelette served with a potato hash and flecked with 22 carat gold leaf.

Further options are Crushed Avocado with Cornish Crab, pink grapefruit & streaky bacon on sourdough, and Corn & Halloumi Friters, avocado & rocket (pictured), Chia Seed Porridge with coconut milk & caramelized banana, pistachio & hemp seeds, and Organic Oat Porridge with blueberries, pecan nuts & fresh figs.

The Balcon’s weekend brunch is served on Saturdays from 12-4pm and Sundays from 12.30 to 4.30pm, and includes a main dish and dessert from a wide selection, plus a basket of luxurious viennoiseries and free-flowing champagne or Bloody Marys from the Chase Bloody Mary bar.

The choices include Poached Lobster & Avocado Eggs Benedict, and Rare Breed Beef Burger with comte´ & onion jam, as well as traditional and vegetarian fry up options. Sweet dishes include Brioche French Toast with mixed berry compote & lemon curd, and Pistachio Waffle with strawberry salad & sauternes cream. A selection of small plates, sides and smoothies complete this quintessential brunch menu.
