Lancaster inn transformed by Thwaites £560k investment

Lancaster's ever-popular Toll House Inn has a fresh new look following a major refurbishment of its guest accommodation.

This £560k investment is the second and final phase of a transformation programme for the Penny Street inn. The corner site has been covered in scaffolding for a few months while an army of designers and builders have been waving their wands.

Now the Toll House's beautiful and welcoming facade is back, and overnight visitors are already complimenting the new look and feel of this 19th-century property.

Among the work carried out was the installation of a new roof, update to all bedrooms, refreshed bedroom corridors and staircase.

General Manager Joe Ruddock said, 'The guest bedrooms are much more homely and we've made the best use of space in each room - all the furniture has been updated and there's a local influence to all the artwork

'The main restaurant and bar looks fantastic after a refurbishment last year and now the guest rooms and areas have been given an extra touch of class, the Toll House is somewhere really special to come drink, dine and stay.'
