Castle Rock Brewery opens theatre bar & restaurant in Nottingham

Castle Rock Brewery has opened its 24th site, Yarn, which is situated inside Nottingham’s Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall.

Named after the tales told on the nearby stage, Yarn is operating as a joint venture between Castle Rock Brewery and Leeds-based CGC Event Caterers.

Formerly the Green Room, Yarn is a situated on the ground floor, with the bar and restaurant open throughout the day. It represents one of the key components of the venue’s £3.3m transformation project, which took place over the summer.

Yarn is managed by some familiar Castle Rock faces. Damian Brandon, formerly of the Stratford Haven pub in West Bridgford, is the new manager, head chef is Jamie Chambers with Charlie Blomeley, formerly of the Bread and Bitter, becoming head of food and beverage operation for the wider joint venture project.

One of the major focuses for Yarn is offering high quality ales, craft beers and spirits along with a delicious selection of dishes. Three of the real ales will be permanently on the bar alongside a comprehensive choice of craft beers from Nottingham and beyond.

The extended upstairs Dress Circle Restaurant offers a leisurely but sophisticated pre-show dining experience as well.

The roof terrace will soon be back in use under the new canopy, which will light up in the evening and give weather-proof views across the city.
