Revere reopens Grade II-listed Oxford pub after major revamp

Oxford’s The Mitre has reopened its doors following an extensive refurbishment from owner Revere, the premium restaurant, bar and boutique hotel group.

Enhancing the pub’s period features, the Grade II-listed building has been restored to maintain the history of the beautiful space.

Positioned perfectly on Oxford High Street, plush upholstered armchairs and luxurious leather Chesterfield sofas provide a relaxed and inviting atmosphere for guests to enjoy their new look local.

With a premium food offering of British classics, the menu is split into grazers, sharers, burgers and mains. Lemongrass tempura chicken with sweet chilli sauce, and ‘The Mitre Sharer’ including salt and pepper squid, beetroot hummus, nachos, and more, are perfect dishes for the table.

Main meals featured are beef bourguignon served with buttered mash, kale with bacon and mushroom with shallot red wine sauce, whilst succulent steaks take centre-stage. Matured for a minimum of 28 days and grilled to perfection, all steaks are served with golden triple-cooked chips, soy-glazed beef tomato, confit garlic mushroom and rocket.

A comprehensive list of wines and champagnes features, as well as long drinks and thirst-quenching cocktails including Chambord Royale, Elderflower Collins, and Koko Kolada, each perfect pre- and post-dinner sips.
