Robinsons Brewery refurbed Cheshire pub sees footfall rise

The Linley Tavern, situated in the lively town centre of Alsager in Cheshire, has delighted its locals with a 5-week internal refurbishment from Robinsons Brewery and licensee of 2 years, Janet Jones.

The renovation was carried out to broaden the overall appeal of the pub, grow the business within the local and wider community, and to add a brighter look and feel, taking it from a dated community local to a contemporary traditional pub. Offering Sky sports, entertainment and community activities, The Linley is now said by locals to be “the best pub is Alsager”.

Wayne Roach, Business Development Manager at Robinsons Brewery, said, “The Linley has always been the ‘go to’ pub for live sport and entertainment. With this in mind, we wanted to enhance this but also modernise the space inside, making it a pub for all to enjoy.

'A small fixed seating area within the bay window of the pub was removed and the area has now been raised to create a new seating area, which doubles up as a stage for live bands. We wanted to make the area more accessible and unrestricted for entertainment so that customers are able to enjoy the pub’s offerings more comfortably.”

The bar was replaced with a new modern bar counter and back fitting to enable an improved product display for customers. Throughout the pub, a palette of blues, greys and warm neutrals were used to fashion a relaxed character throughout, along with a new internal lighting scheme to create a warmer ambience.

In order to improve customer flow, a small partition wall was removed and replaced with a screened area to offer some division between the lounge bar area and the pool and darts room.

Janet Jones, licensee at The Linley Tavern, said, “The Linley is now modern and in keeping with the times. It has all the charm of a cosy pub but with a modern twist, and is established now as a fantastic place to see live bands. The sports side of the pub is also a lot better, now being viewed on three large screens.

'Footfall has increased, and customers are wowed by the new look. We’re seeing more and more new faces visiting the pub as well as our loyal regulars returning again and again; all who tell us we are the best pub in Alsager since having the refurbishment!”

The Linley Tavern promotes live sporting events and regularly holds entertainment nights, bingo and quiz evenings. The pub offers a delicious range of cask ales including Robinsons’ popular seasonal beers. Both San Miguel and Strongbow Dark fruits are also now available, along with a tasty snack style menu for all to enjoy.
