Popular East Sussex inn snapped up

The Buxted Inn in the village of Buxted, near Uckfield, East Sussex, has sold through Christie & Co.

Positioned in the heart of the village, the popular local pub boasts eight contemporary en-suite guestrooms, a spacious restaurant with capacity for 60 covers, and a bar area for up to 26 covers.

The plot also features a customer car park and trade garden, and the modernised establishment is highly regarded, having been awarded TripAdvisor’s ‘Certificate of Excellence’ for the past five years.

Former owner, Jason Bailey, is looking to take a break from the sector, having sold The Buxted Inn, before embarking on his next venture. Bailey said, “I am very happy to have worked with Christie & Co to sell The Buxted Inn, it is the right time for me to move on and the process has been made even easier with them on board. James Hughes has been excellent throughout, obtaining a number of offers and helping to find the right buyer to take over the business.”

James Hughes, Business Agent at Christie & Co, commented, “I was delighted to facilitate the transaction and wish new owner, Nick Bolton, every success with his plans to continue growing the well-established and popular business for many years to come.

“This sale continues to demonstrate demand from buyers for good quality hospitality businesses in the South East, with both investors and lifestyle purchasers showing interest in sites. We anticipate this demand to continue, making it a great time for pub owners in the region who are considering a sale.”
