Ghia Holding launches first UK restaurant in London

Hospitality group Ghia Holding has launched its first UK site, a Lebanese restaurant in Belgravia, named Abd el Wahab - the firstt restaurant to open outside the Middle East.

The mezze includes fattouch - salad with crisp, fried pieces of pitta bread and sumac, mouttabal - smoky aubergine and yoghurt dip, as well as falafel. There are several varieties of hummus to choose from, with toppings such as chopped lamb, or toasted pine nuts.

For the main dishes, there are grilled meats and fish aplenty, including giant prawns, lamb cutlets, and lamb and chicken skewers, plus minced meat stuffed flatbread. For sharing, it has to be the ouzzi, or slow roasted lamb with rice and toasted nuts.

There is wine from Lebanon, of course, as well as those from Europe and North America.
