Stem + Glory exceeds crowdfunding target in 24hrs for third site

Stem + Glory, a plant-based eatery brand, launched a second crowdfunding mission just 24 hours ago to fund a third branch, this time in London, in preparation for a roll out.

With a busy cafe and a restaurant in Cambridge, Stem + Glory's mission was to raise £350k but it has already exceeded that and the fund currently stands at over £373k, with 28 days still to go.

Stem + Glory King St offers fast and fresh eat in or take away lunches, sandwiches and wraps in a cafe-style atmosphere. For lunch there's a wide selection of hot and cold dishes piled high on a plate or in three different sizes of take away box.

There's also weekday breakfast, weekend brunch and a wide range of vegan cakes and snacks, juices, smoothies and coffee in from Caravan Roastery. The site offers a wide range of craft beers.

At Stem + Glory Chesterton Road there is table service, and an A la carte menu for lunch and dinner. There is also a weekday fast service lunch option to eat in or take away. The site serves a offer a wide range of vegan wines, craft beers, SMART drinks and artisan sodas.

Demand for plant-based food is seeing huge growth. Last year Ocado saw a 1500% increase in plant-based food sales, and Just Eat a 987% increase in demand for meat-free meals.

Despite this growth, vegan restaurants are under-represented. Of 18,302 restaurants in London, just 0.1% are fully vegan.
