Drake & Morgan opens Devonshire Terrace

Devonshire Terrace by Drake & Morgan, situated near London's Liverpool Street Station, has opened.

Ideal for business breakfasts, catch-up coffees, light lunches and late-night cocktails the chic all-day bar and restaurant, with an expansive all-weather terrace, offers an everyday escape for office workers, commuters and day trippers, from early morning until last call.

There's an abundantly planted upper terrace and lower lounge, plus a second rear terrace is the perfect spot for a breakfast meeting or after-work drink. Inside, there's the spacious bar and restauran and there are also four private dining rooms for small meetings, large events and everything in between.

Devonshire Terrace’s botanical cocktail menu has been created by Drake & Morgan mixologist Fabrizio Cioffi of Edinburgh’s The Refinery, in partnership with London Essence and Chris Edwards of cocktail consultancy ‘Salts of the Earth’. The list features classic and experimental cocktails characterised by the use of the herbs, spices, berries and vegetables found in an English country garden.

Must tries include the Yoga Mat & Cha, a blend of spit-roasted pineapple gin by the Boutique-y Gin Company, yoghurt, almond milk, honey green tea, baking soda, lemon, sage and hazelnut and the Grassland with Ketel One vodka, absinthe, apple juice, lemon, dandelion and burdock bitters, grapefruit and rosemary tonic.

Zero proof concoctions taste as good as they look with many of them and many under 50 calories like the saffron lemonade or Market fizz (pomegranate juice, lemon, rose water, tonic and za’atar salt rim). An extensive range of wines, many by the glass, premium spirits, craft beers and ciders complete the drinks offering.

Open Monday to Friday for breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner; Devonshire Terrace’s menu features seasonal small plates, sharing boards, gourmet sandwiches and burgers.

There's also an exciting range of seasonal salads from the ‘godfather of fusion,’ – chef, restaurateur and food writer, Peter Gordon that goes far beyond lacklustre leaves. Think roast cauliflower with seeds, olives, broad beans, peas and olive tapenade; kohlrabi with watermelon, tofu, mangetout and candied walnuts, or baby beetroot with broad beans, goat’s curd and hazelnuts.

Also, on the menu is an exciting array of new vegetarian and vegan options sure to appeal to even the most committed of carnivores with the likes of flat mushroom burger with smoked vegan mozzarella, tomato and beetroot hummus; pearl barley risotto, watercress, asparagus and vegan pecorino; and avocado hummus on toasted gluten-free flat bread with dukkah and pomegranate.

For early City starts, there’s an extensive array of breakfast dishes, from the super sanctimonious through to downright dirty, from grilled pink grapefruit with crème fraiche and pistachios through to a breakfast burger with fried egg, bacon and mushroom ketchup.

While weekdays at Devonshire Terrace are bustling with business, it’s available for parties and celebrations over the weekends. Night or day, sitting or standing, inside or out, celebrate big occasions throughout the restaurant, private dining rooms, and out on the terrace – the options are endless.

With its own wedding licence and a plethora of spaces, Devonshire Terrace is a stunning venue for modern day nuptials. From intimate receptions for 50 to lavish occasions for 500, there’s a unique, tailor-made wedding package for every purse and person with the gorgeous glass roof high over the western courtyard ensuring perfect al fresco pictures all year round.
