Craft Guild of Chefs appoints National Chairman & awards members

The Craft Guild of Chefs held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and members award ceremony to celebrate the hard work and commitment of their members over the past 12 months. Both took place at The Victory Services Club in London.

The AGM gathered key representatives of the guild, appointing Andrew Bennett as National Chairman and Nick Vadis as National Vice Chair of the association.

Bennett said,“I am delighted to be appointed the new Chair of Craft Guild of Chefs. I have worked in this industry a long time and look forward to sharing my ideas and hope to be influential to the guild and its members.”

Following the AGM, the awards ceremony took place, acknowledging many young rising chefs who are seen to be potential stars of the future in the industry, to members who have been recognised for their outstanding contribution and commitment to the guild.

Andrew Green, Craft Guild of Chefs’ director of operations was proud to present Audrey Dawber with her award for 50 years of membership. Green comments: “I’d like to extend a huge thank you to Audrey for her continued support for the work of the Craft Guild of Chefs.”

Michael Eyre (pictured centre), diploma award recipient, added that he was very proud to be included. Eyre won this award for being a member who continually promotes the Guild’s aims.

Every year a Gold Award is presented to a member for their long and outstanding service to the Craft Guild of Chefs. The nominee must have held an organising position on any of the Craft Guild’s committees and a member for at least 10 years. This year this honoured Steve Love, Concept Development Chef from McCormick Flavour Group, Europe.

Love shared his delight in winning the award, “I was very surprised to have been awarded the Craft Guild of Chefs Gold award this week. To be recognised by my peers is a great honour and I am genuinely elated. To be able to make a contribution to this great industry is something I do with a glad heart but to receive an award such as this for my efforts is truly humbling.”

The Craft Guild of Chefs will hold their 25th annual awards on Monday 4th June at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London where they will again recognise more influential figures in the industry.
