New World Trading Company, the Knutsford-headquartered bar and restaurant operator, is looking to open a Botanist-branded restaurant at the Octagon Chapel in Bath.
The group is looking to invest £1.3m to upgrade and refit the Octagon Chapel and Vaults to bring it back into use and give it a 'quirky' twist. The opening will create 50 new jobs.
Under the proposals, the opening hours will also be extended to 11am until 2am from Thursday to Saturday and until 1am from Sunday to Wednesday.
The Grade II-listed venue, which dates back to 1788, is currently closed and was formerly home to Burger and Lobster and The Confessional.
