Smoky Boys to launch at Boxpark Wembley before Hemel Hempstead opening

Smoky Boys BBQ and Grill Haus, the leading name in Halal, premium meat barbecue and burger restaurants, has just signed with the new Boxpark Wembley to open a site there in October this year.

The announcement also coincides with rapid expansion plans with yet another restaurant site just signed on for in Hemel Hempstead, which will open later this summer.

Originally launched in Watford in 2016 by Co-Founders Sharif Rahman and Hiron Miah, the company currently has three restaurant sites on the outskirts of London and a delivery kitchen unit.

The group then launched its biggest site to date early last year in Amersham followed later in the year in Hounslow and then in April this year, a Delivery Kitchen unit in Stevenage, where it’s currently creating a string of local job opportunities. Smoky Boys also has a 2000 sq ft. warehouse unit, which it uses as storage and packaging space from where it distributes to all units.

The brand's menu offers gourmet burgers, grilled chicken, smoked BBQ ribs – all made from quality, well sourced meat – and flavoursome shakes.

Provenance is very much at the heart of these gourmet meats, which are fresh and packed with taste. As a result, Smoky Boys uses the services of a renowned, traditional English butchers in London, who in turn source high quality Halal meat bringing a uniquely different and distinctive touch to the meats being used in the menu items.

Smoky Boys takes a simple formula and elevates it into a flavoursome and divinely delicious experience. Menu items include the popular Grilled Chicken Wings (with flavours ranging from Lemon & Thyme, Smoky BBQ, Peri, Jerk and Dynamite) to Smoky Beef Brisket, Char-Grilled Shrimp, whilst Steaks (using premium dry-aged beef), and Hot Dogs also feature.

The highlight of the menu though must surely be the tender Smoked BBQ Ribs and what is a generous choice of 15 burgers – ranging from Smoky Melt, Moroccan Lamb, Pulled Chicken and Halloumi Stack (the ground beef sourced from native bred cattle, which is free range, grass fed and aged for a minimum of 40 days) – to a gamut of enticing toppings and sauces.

Drinks fit the concept perfectly with cocktails, mocktails, craft sodas and shakes, and beers, making up a selection which has something for everyone. The former may include Californian Breeze and also Jalapeño Margarita amongst others.

“In a relatively short of space of time, “said Rahman, “Smoky Boys has not only become a brand name, which is making waves, it is also one which crosses the boundaries of Halal and non-Halal followers due to its highly attractive concept and exciting food. Boxpark Wembley, which is right at the doorstep of Wembley Stadium, is a great site to be in and we’re very proud to be part of it. It was a much sought after site with a lot of operators vying for it, but Smoky Boys is one of the few of the elite of businesses that were given a unit.”

Miah added, “Compared to other quality, gourmet burger establishments, Smoky Boys is very accessible both in terms of the items it offers and also the price points. We felt it was high time we went out with the brand and acquire other sites, increase its popularity and solidify it further.”

With the success of the group now assured, particularly as its target market is broad and eclectic – ranging from an age bracket of early 20s to people in their 30s along with families – Smoky Boys is moving onwards and upwards and is now looking to explore opportunities on a wider scale.

With Boxpark Wembley already signed up, discussions to acquire several sites in both London and on the borders of the capital are in advanced stages with further announcements due soon.

The group is also receptive to granting franchise opportunities to interested parties, particularly as it’s looking to target high-footfall spaces such as shopping malls, food halls, spots near busy train stations and travel links as well as sports stadiums.
