Pret A Manger to introduce compostable cutlery next year

Sandwich chain Pret A Manger is taking further environment-aware steps as it's set to introduce compostable cutlery next year.

Since Pret committed to eliminating unnecessary single-use plastic earlier this year, many of its customers have been asking when the brand will find an alternative to single-use plastic cutlery.

The company trialled wooden cutlery in some of its outlets in May, but unfortunately that fell a little flat according to the customer feedback.

Pret is now testing keeping cutlery behind tills, in a handful of its shops, to see if this makes a difference. However, it will change all of its cutlery, in all of the UK sites, to compostable cutlery in 2019.
