150 jobs saved as 2 Sisters Wolverhampton plant to remain open

Boparan Holdings has reversed a decision to close its 2 Sisters poultry plant in Wolverhampton, securing the future of 150 jobs.

Not only will the facility remain open but will become a seven-day operation, as part of a broad restructure of the company’s processing business.

The 2 Sisters subsidiary has said back in February that it was in discussions over the future of three of its factories – two in the West Midlands, and one in Cambuslang, South Lanarkshire. There were some 900 jobs said to be at risk of redundancy.

However, it's not all positive news as the plant in Scotland and one of the West Midlands sites in Smethwick will still close.
