Merlin invests £2.6m in Sea Life Brighton attraction refurb

Sea Life Brighton is to undergo a £2.6m final phase of structural work of its tourist attraction on Marine Parade, with a relaunch expected by Easter 2019.

From 3 September, the auditorium, which is the oldest operating aquarium in the world, with Grade II-listed heritage, and ocean viewing tunnel will be closed to the general public whilst restorations are undertaken.

Since 2012, Merlin Entertainments Plc has invested over £4m to ensure the aquarium is restored to the highest standard and is fully committed to spending whatever money is necessary to complete the restoration programme.

There are also plans to introduce some new creatures, to what is promising to be a Europe-first in the new ocean display.

Sea Life Brighton offers a coffee shop, located in the Victorian Arcade opposite the Ray Pool, where visitors can enjoy snacks and refreshments.
