New upmarket restaurant to open in E18

A Gordon Ramsay-trained chef is to open The Gallery on South Woodford's High Road, London E18, which was formerly The Woodford.

Head Chef Dave Rann, who also trained under Gary Rhodes and was most recently at The Juniper Tree in Belsize Park, has created a menu described as comprising modern British and grilled foods.

There will be dishes such as: Hand dived Celtic scallops with a wild mushroom duxelle, iberico ham & truffle mornay, Beef tartare with nduja emulsion, hens yolk & mini brioche, and Perl Las Blue double baked souffle with radicchio, endive & pickled apple with truffle oil.

A range of burgers and steaks will be served up from the Josper grill, and sides will include smoked mash.

Diners will be accompanied by a self-playing grand piano on the ground floor and DJs playing on the first floor. There will also be a chef’s table for four and a private dining room with space for 16..
