MEATLiquor Kings Cross extends BBQ Dreamz pop-up

After the runaway success of their first six-week residency, My Million Pound Menu winners BBQ Dreamz will be bringing Filipino flavours to MEATLiquor Kings Cross for three additional Sundays with further tickets available from today.

The sell-out pop-up, run by founders Lee Johnson and Sinead Cambpell, will continue to serve their signature eleven-course tasting menu comprised of the winning dishes featured on the show.

After starting off at street food hot spots Kerb and StreetFeast and music festivals across the UK, BBQ Dreamz sprang to success on BBC2’s My Million Pound Menu earlier this year. The eleven-course tasting menu uses ingredients and flavours inspired by Lee’s Filipino heritage and the best of British produce.

Born and raised on a working farm in County Galway, Cambpell understands the importance of provenance and flavour, which together are central to the menu at BBQ Dreamz.

The menu kicks off with some BBQ Dreamz favourites; Grilled satay duck heart skewers, in homage to Lee’s auntie who runs a skewer stall back in their home village. Also taking its place on the menu will be the Filipino staple Lechon Kawali, pork belly that is sous vide for 36 hours before being chopped up in to crispy nuggets and served with cane vinegar dipping sauce as well as the sweet and sour Papaya noodle salad made using vermicelli rice noodles.

Johnson said, “With our humble beginnings working as a street food stall we could never have anticipated how well the past few weeks have gone. We’re really excited to be continuing for another three weeks.”

BBQ Dreamz Sunday pop-up at MEATLiquor continues on Sunday 24 February for three Sundays.
