Herts pub transformed by Punch investment

A new investment by pub operator Punch has created the Western Sports and Social on the High Street in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire.

The major transformation has enabled a new open plan pub to be created, a newly built kitchen and cellar, relocated toilets and accessible facilities. An external trading area has been designed with covered tube booths and a circular seating area.

The new look pub which was formerly known as Druids has been completely renovated and will now offer an extensive range of craft and world beers as well as a new food menu which includes bucket sharers and burgers alongside traditional pub food.

Punch’s managing director, Andy Spencer said, “The Western Sports and Social is one of our biggest investments yet and shows our commitment to creating great community pubs. By matching the right investment with the right publican we have created a pub in an ideal location on Rickmansworth High Street for shoppers and sports fans alike”.

New Publican, Jerry Roldan has great plans for his new pub, he said, “The pub felt right from the beginning and I know this project will not only be successful, but we are going to have fun with our customers along the way. We are bringing something special to Rickmansworth and I cannot wait to share it with customers old and new”.

The pub will be offering live entertainment, comedy events and seasonal festivals. It has a shuffleboard area creating a quality community place.

The transformation at the pub is part of a £32m investment programme this year by Punch.
