Aussie restaurant brand to make UK debut at The O2

AEG and Crosstree Real Estate Partners have announced the international debut of Australian restaurant brand Butcher and the Farmer at The O2, signing a farm-to-table concept focused on shared dining.

The brand will join the expanding range of restaurants sitting alongside London’s premium outlet shopping destination, ICON Outlet at The O2.

Created by My Kitchen Rules 2015 winners, Steve Flood and Will Stewart, Butcher and the Farmer’s first site launched in New South Wales, Australia. The brand has now selected The O2, as the first step in their international expansion and will take a 6,996 sq ft space, with 266 covers.

Set to open in September, the farm-to-table concept is backed by executive chefs Flood and Stewart, who have curated a menu with simple, honest and delicious ingredients which are sourced directly from farmers and providers.

Flood, Co-founder & Brand Manager, said, “The London dining scene is an impressive, eclectic market – a place we have always envisaged our unique brand flourishing.

'The O2 stood out to us as the ideal platform to launch our brand overseas, with our restaurant positioned alongside ICON Outlet, and an extremely high volume of visitors from all across the globe.

'For our first restaurant in Europe, we wanted a popular location with huge potential and the developing area of North Greenwich in one of the most well-visited capitals in Europe, ticked the box for us.”

Speaking on behalf of AEG and Crosstree, Marion Dillon, Leasing Director for The O2 and ICON Outlet, said, “Securing the international debut for Butcher and the Farmer at The O2, highlights our appeal and trend-led food and beverage offering with some of the most relevant and exciting dining operators in the capital.

'Joining leading brands, Butcher and the Farmer will enrich our diverse mix of international cuisine, complementing the unrivalled fashion and leisure offer all under the roof of The O2.”
