Angela Hartnett to open new Cafe Murano this autumn

Angela Hartnett MBE is opening a new Cafe Murano this autumn on London's Bermondsey Street, with the current Head Chef at St James, Adam Jay, leading the kitchen.

Hartnett opened the Michelin-starred Italian restaurant Murano in Mayfair in 2008. Since then, she has opened two Cafe Murano restaurants in London – St James in 2013 and Covent Garden in 2015, alongside neighbouring Pastificio; the pasta factory, wine shop and deli adjacent to the Covent Garden restaurant.

The little sister restaurant to Murano, Cafe Murano is popular for its relaxed and welcoming atmosphere and informal, regional Italian offering, making use of quality seasonal produce from a list of trusted suppliers.

Cafe Murano Bermondsey will offer many of the signature dishes that can be found on the menus at St James and Covent Garden, including the classic dishes Ossobuco alla Milanese and Anolini in brodo.

Antipasti and cichetti will play centrally to the offering, appealing to the buzzy demographic of neighbouring Bermondsey, especially ideal for after work drinks.

Italian aperitivo style cocktails such as Cafe Murano spritz: Aperol, Cocchi Rosa, Luxardo Maraschino will complement small plates such as Salt cod fritters, parmesan & lemon; Gnocchi fritti San Daniele and Octopus, borlotti beans, tomato & salsa verde.
