Bath-based leisure company, The Halcyon Group has sold the leasehold interest in Circo, a high-end lounge bar and restaurant, through Christie & Co, in order to focus on other areas of its diverse regional business portfolio.
Circo has one of the most extensive bars in the city with a stunning array of cocktails on offer, as well as a comprehensive champagne, wine and spirits list. It was recently voted the Best Bar in Bath 2019 by Bath Life.
Occupying a stylish Georgian basement, Bath's Circo Cocktail Bar and Lounge showcases an eclectic blend of the old and new; with classic panelled walls, luxurious Chesterfield sofas and a cool palette of chic blue tones accented by dusky copper highlights.
The business has been acquired by long term Bath resident, Mike Philips, a local industry professional. With a vast wealth of experience gained from over a decade working in various senior roles across the licensed sector.
Philips commented, “This is an exciting time for Circo and for Bath. It’s as important as ever to continually adapt to the city’s ever-changing and evolving tastes, and I am looking forward to working with my team to bring in new ideas and maximise this unique venue’s great potential.
'We will be overhauling our cocktail menu over the coming weeks and introducing a variety of new brands to our bars, such as Asahi.
'We are also changing our opening hours so that we are catering to a wider demographic during the week. I am confident that these improvements alongside a long list of other changes we are planning to implement, will only reinforce Circo’s reputation as the Best Bar in Bath.”
