M&S launches online food box service for vulnerable Brits

Marks & Spencer has become the latest grocer to sell food boxes online as part of a national effort to protect the vulnerable and keep supplies moving.

The chain will deliver £30 packages containing 20 items such as pasta, rice, curry, cooking sauces and even Percy Pig sweets. The boxes come in standard and vegetarian options.

M&S will give priority access to customers over 70, identified via its loyalty programme Sparks, and will impose a limit of one box per customer. Boxes will be dropped off contact-free for a delivery fee of £3.99.

The move marks the groups first foray into online groceries before it begins selling its goods through Ocado's website in September.

This latest news comes after M&S partnered with Deliveroo last week to deliver household essentials including milk, bread, and ready meals, to your door as coronavirus pushes the UK into lockdown.
