Amazon to launch up to 30 smart c-stores in UK

Amazon is set to open 10 Amazon Go convenience stores, which will be cashless and checkout-free, with 20 more sites planned.

The new smart stores use camera technology to track what shoppers are taking off the shelf and placing in their basket; payment is then taken directly from their Amazon account for the items in the basket.

Amazon Go first opened its doors to the public in Seattle, 2018. Now there are 27 different stores branching out over 4 different states in the US, with 8 in New York.
