Five Guys to open at North London retail park

Royal London Asset Management, represented by international real estate advisor Savills, has let the former Chiquito unit at Colosseum Retail Park in Enfield to global burger chain, Five Guys.

Five Guys has agreed a new 15 year lease on the 3,900 sq ft (362 sq m) site and is set to open later in 2020.

Located on Southbury Road in Enfield, Colosseum Retail Park comprises 95,500 sq ft (8,877 sq m) of retail and leisure space and is home to the likes of Cineworld, TGI Friday’s and Wagamama, which also opened at the park in 2019.

Carlene Hughes, head of UK leisure at Savills, commented, “In the last few years Five Guys has becomes one of the biggest names in fast food and casual dining in the UK so we’re delighted to have secured this deal which will see them open their first site in Enfield.

'We are especially pleased to have secured a new tenant for the unit so soon after it became vacant, demonstrating resilience for the scheme and sector in what has been a challenging period.”

Yasin Sadiq, senior asset manager at Royal London, added, “Five Guys is a great addition to the scheme and its offering will complement the other food and leisure operators already trading.

'Five Guys’ arrival is testament to the fact that consumer demand for great food and a fantastic leisure experience is now even more important to people following the impact of the pandemic and we look forward to welcoming them to the scheme.”

Five Guys was formed by Jerry and Janie Murrell in Virginia, US, back in 1986. The company operates more than 1,000 sites across the US and Canada, and has over 100 UK sites, launching in Covent Garden in 2013.
