Former Bunga Bunga venue comes to market

Shelley Sandzer, acting on behalf of a private landlord, is marketing 37 Battersea Bridge Road, a former home of the famed venue, Bunga Bunga.

Comprising 6,059 sq ft across 4 floors, the site is in a prime location just a stone’s throw away from both the River Thames and the iconic Battersea Park.

Surrounded by an affluent residential area and adjacent to the Royal College of Art, the venue benefits from an alcohol and entertainment licence to 1am Sunday to Thursday, and 2am on Fridays and Saturdays.

For over a decade, Bunga Bunga Battersea attracted an impressive array of diners, partiers, and late-night revellers, from local students to Prince Harry.

Previously set up with a mix of uses – one floor home to a pizzeria, another a club, alongside private dining and karaoke areas – the landlord is targeting a similar pub or bar offer.

Consumer and location intelligence specialist CACI recently reported that pubs and bars saw 38% sales growth comparing Q4 of 2021 with Q4 of 2022, pointing to huge potential for operators in this market, with socialising and spend on the rise.

Richard Thomas, Director of Agency at Shelley Sandzer, said, “The following that Bunga Bunga developed in its time in Battersea shows what can be achieved at this amazing site.

'We are seeing a real determination from people to get out and socialise, be it after work with colleagues, or on the weekend with friends, something supported by spend data.

'This unit provides a great opportunity to tap into that market, and no doubt it will soon be home to an operator with real personality, that can attract both local people and those from around London, with an all-day offer that spills into evening fun.”
