Fairleigh House care home in Swansea, South Wales, has been sold via Christie & Co for an undisclosed price.
For the last 30 years, Fairleigh House has been a family-run business offering residential care for up to 20 people with dementia. The home is arranged in a substantial, attractive period property in Sketty, an affluent and desirable suburb of Swansea.
Since it was established, Fairleigh House has been owned by Linda Jones who recently decided to sell to pursue a well-earned retirement.
Following a confidential sales process, it has been sold to Dr Kannan Muthuvairavan, Mani Neelamegan and Dr Muthukkumaar Gnanavel who also own Manorleigh Spring Meadows in the city.
Linda commented, “This sale marks both an exciting and sad time for me, but I am sure Kannan and his Partners will continue to offer a good service to all the residents at Fairleigh House. My sincere best wishes for the future.”
On behalf of the new owners, Kannan noted, “We recently got into the industry and are keen to get involved more and feed our appetite of providing quality care. It’s going to be a challenge in two ways; we need to maintain a good standard of care at the home, and also make sure that we don’t get too excited and be careful with our next steps.”
Oliver McCarthy, Associate Director – Care at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, added, “Linda has created a brilliant home over the last 30 years, and I’m very pleased to have assisted her in selling it to Kannan, Mani and Muthu, who are in the process of growing their portfolio across South Wales and who, I’m sure, will take Fairleigh from strength to strength.
“The care home market in the South West continues to be very active, with a wide range of buyers looking to acquire both freehold and leasehold assets.”
