Wells & Co., a pub operator and brewer, has announced the reopening of The Playwright, one of its managed pubs in Nottingham.
The pub reopened on Thursday, 11 December following a refurbishment costing over £500,000. Wells says the project highlights its ‘commitment to backing its pub estate,’ despite the growing financial and operational pressures on the sector, intensified by the Autumn Budget.
In addition to updating both the interior and exterior, the refurbishment has added new interactive entertainment, including darts and shuffleboard.
Benjamin Smith, retail director of Wells & Co. said: 'Our investment in The Playwright recognises the importance and value of the pub experience, while also demonstrating our ongoing support for our teams, ensuring they can continue to thrive, even during challenging times for hospitality.'
He added: 'Pubs remain a crucial part of our communities, and The Playwright now boasts an experience that builds upon our quality food and drink offer.'
Wells & Co. now looks forward to welcoming guests back to enjoy the refreshed space, upgraded entertainment, and enhanced customer experience that lie at the heart of everything they do.
