St Modwen plans new Oldbury restaurant run by Greene King

Development giant, St Modwen has unveiled a multi-million pound scheme for a restaurant on a Birchley Island site in Oldbury, West Midlands, which would be operated by Greene King.

The planning application says the 298-seat restaurant, situated just off Junction 2 of the M5, would be part of Greene King’s Farmhouse Inn brand, and would create 80 full-time and part-time jobs. The scheme also includes a car park with 95 spaces.

The 13,811 sq ft restaurant will have two entrances to accommodate those visiting to dine and those using only the bar. The building will have a central patio for outdoor dining.

St Modwen says the project will act as a catalyst for the regeneration of the rest of the site with planning applications for further development to follow.

Greene King's Farmhouse Inns has more than 30 restaurants across the country. The brand is known for its daily carveries, home-made cakes, cask ales and children’s activity play areas.
