Turtle Bay to open first site inside London

Caribbean restaurant brand, Turtle Bay is set to open its first restaurant inside London next month with a site in Brixton.

The 20th site for Turtle Bay, Brixton comes from a £800k investment and will create 60 new jobs for locals. It will like the others, be a laidback bar with rum cocktails.

The menu includes favourites such as shrimp and mango wraps, Trini doubles and Jamaican browned chicken while desserts include Caymanas rum cake, BBQ pineapple and rum & raisin bread pudding.

Speaking to the Brixton Guardian operations manager, Eddie Coyne said, “We look for team members who are warm, friendly, have bags of energy and great personalities. The best things about Brixton are the people and community – Turtle Bay is a family and we are looking forward to employing great people from the local area.”

Turtle Bay was set up by Ajith Jayawickrema in 2011 following a trip to Barbados’ Surfside Bar. There are now 20 restaurants in the UK in locations such as Nottingham, Milton Keynes and Southampton.
