Greggs is planning to set up a new head office for its bakery business at Quorum Business Park in North Tyneside in spring 2016.
The move comes as the company looks to consolidate a number of its office locations across the region, bringing them into one main business hub on the business park.
Also, the new headquarters will be in close proximity to Greggs Balliol and Gosforth Park production centres.
CEO Roger Whiteside (pictured) said, “This move is a positive and exciting step for us, and gives us the opportunity to bring all of our central functions into one location.
“Our new office space will be equipped with a modern interior and carefully designed work spaces to help ensure the best possible working environment for our colleagues.
“I am proud that although we are a thriving national company, with over 1,660 shops UK wide, we continue to be rooted firmly in the North East community where the Greggs story first began over 75 years ago.”
