One of the UK's leading food manufacturers, Samworth Brothers has acquired SCI-MX Nutrition in Brockworth, which is the fastest growing sports nutrition brand in the grocery sector.
The SCI-MX brand includes a wide range of powder, capsule and convenience sports nutrition products, with SCI-MX PRO2GO Flapjack the UK's number one sports nutrition protein bar.
The company has a reputation for innovation such as its 2014 launch of PRO2GO Protein Cookies, with more than one million units expected to be sold this year.
The UK is now the world's second largest market for sports nutrition, after the USA, where total sales are valued at $2.9bn (£1.9bn) per year.
