Five restaurants & bars revealed for O2 InterContinental London

InterContinental London - The O2, which opens on the Greenwich Peninsula in winter 2015, has unveiled five destination restaurants and bars on the hotel’s premises.

The 18-storey hotel will be home to a variety of historically-inspired restaurants and bars: The Clipper Bar, Eighteen Sky Bar, Market Brasserie, The Meridian Lounge and Peninsula Restaurant, alongside its 4,500sqm conference centre.

The Clipper Bar (pictured) offers a range of wines, beers, spirits, cocktails, and also loose teas, to be enjoyed with a 270-degree view of the river.

Eighteen Sky Bar also provides beers, wines, and spirits, while additionally offering champagne and an Asian-inspired menu. Eighteen Sky Bar can be hired for private parties and special events.

The Market Brasserie has an open-plan kitchen with fresh bread and pastries as well as displays of cured meats and smoked salmon.

Meanwhile, the Meridian Lounge can be used for business or leisure and will provide hot drinks, as well as pastries, salads and sandwiches. Guests can be seated on the 45-seat outdoor terrace with views of the river.

Finally, the Peninsula Restaurant features an 80-capacity dining room with private dining space for up to 24 and will serve a fine-dining menu of European cuisine.

Food and beverage director at the InterContinental London, Carl Chapman said, “Each of our restaurant and bar outlets have been deliberately designed to incorporate uninterrupted views of the river with choice menus and dining experiences developed to evoke memories of Greenwich’s rich naval history – the docks, the food merchants, smokehouses, bakeries, the history of time and nautical triumphs.”
