Origin Coffee considers move to Portleven

Cornwall-based, Origin Coffee is considering plans to relocate its head office and 17 staff to a new factory in Portleven despite concerns from residents regarding traffic, parking and tourists.

Trevor Osbourne’s Porthleven Harbour and Dock Company is looking to build a two-storey tower and adjoining building in Portleven’s historic harbour.

The company is yet to submit a planning application but has already been in talks with county planners and held a public consultation day on Friday when many of the locals expressed their concerns regarding the new building’s purpose.

Origin Coffee currently operates out of its brewhouse location in Helston but is keen to move to Portleven as it believes it is an ‘iconic Cornish location.’ It also operates a coffee shop in Shoreditch, London.
