Bakkavor is expanding the 1,500-strong workforce at its desserts factory in Newark with 160 new jobs to help meet demand.
After an increase in sales, Bakkavor will hire the workers on flexible contracts so they work longer during peak times, such as the run-up to Christmas.
Bakkavor produces a range of cream cakes, trifles and pastries, as well as savoury products such as ready meals, pizzas and bagged salad leaves. Clients include Asda, Waitrose, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons.
