Costa opens first food-led store in London

Costa Coffee has launched its first food-led store in central London on Tottenham Court Road which Costa hopes will encourage people to come in for food as well as coffee.

Costa Fresco offers freshly baked oven-fresh food including handcrafted ciabattas and pastries, salads, quiches, cakes, cookies and fruit juices as well as coffee.

The store is inspired by the Costa brothers Sergio and Bruno’s Italian passion for freshly made food. Their first Costa store opened in London over 40 years ago.

Carol Welch, Costa’s global director of brand & innovation, said, “We really want to bring something different to the food market in London. The store will be similar to the traditional Costa stores, but will have much more of a food focus. All pastries, cakes and bread will be baked on site – our customers are telling us they want more, good quality food.”

The store opens from 6.30am-8pm Monday to Friday, 7.30am-7.30pm on Saturdays and 8am-7.30pm on Sundays.
