Hand Picked Hotels completes sale ahead of UK expansion

Country house hotel chain Hand Picked Hotels has sold its Priest House Hotel in Derbyshire to Norton Motorcyles CEO Stuart Garner for £3.25 as the company focuses on adding larger hotels to its portfolio.

As part of its strategic plan to focus on larger sites, it also put its Seiont Manor Hotel in Snowdonia on the market in July for £2m but has yet agreed a sale. The completion of the Priest House Hotel deal is set to be completed on 29 January, with all employees being transferred to the new owner.

Hand Picked Hotels chairman Julia Hands said: “The Priest House is an attractive property in a lovely setting. However, we do have a concentration of hotels in the Midlands, with gaps elsewhere geographically which we would like to fill. “We are keen to add additional slightly larger hotels to the Hand Picked Hotels collection and we continue to search for hotels in strategic locations across the UK.”
