Greene King opens talks over Loch Fyne £100m sale

Greene King is in early discussions regarding the sale of seafood restaurant chain, Loch Fyne after receiving a number of ‘opportunistic bid approaches’, according to The Sunday Times' City sources,

Loch Fyne currently operates almost 40 restaurants around the UK, and it is thought that the sale could be worth £100m to Greene King.

Greene King apparently views the chain as being surplus to requirements following the takeover of the rival pub chain Spirit last year.

In 2007, Greene King acquired Loch Fyne for £68m to diversify away from its core brewing and pub image.
