Payne + Gunter serves up regal Twinings tea at Royal Windsor Horse Show

Payne + Gunter partnered with Twinings to serve the Queens Specially blended tea at the Royal Windsor Horse Show, which concluded on Sunday.

Twinings' master blenders created the Queens Special Blend Tea to commemorate Queen Elizabeth II’s 90th birthday. Using the finest quality black teas from three Commonwealth countries, the special blend is made up of full-bodied tea from Assam, India; refreshing Kenyan tea; and a rich, smooth Sri Lankan variety swirled together to create a great tasting celebratory cup.

At the five day event, Payne + Gunter catered for the Members Enclosure Restaurant and Deli, as well as hospitality areas including the Royal Box, Waterloo Chamber and Guard Chamber, delivering a variety of formal and informal dining offers as well as a deli bar for over 1,500 guests each day.

Bethan James, Operation Director at Payne + Gunter, said, “We love working with the Royal Windsor Horse Show with whom we have been in partnership with since 2011. It was also fantastic to be able to partner with Twinings in this special year. Payne + Gunter champions the best of British and this special tea really does bring this to life.”

Stephen Twining, Director of Corporate Relations at Twinings, added, “We are known for creating innovative blends of teas and nothing is more fitting than celebrating Her Majesty The Queen’s 90th birthday with this celebratory blend. To be able to serve the tea in the grounds of Windsor Castle was a real honour.”

For every tin of the Queen’s honorary tea that is bought, Twinings will make a donation to QEST: the Royal Warrant Holders Association Charity, supporting excellence in British craftsmanship.
