Turtle Bay to open £1m eatery in Chelmsford next month

Turtle Bay is set to open a new Caribbean restaurant and bar in Chelmsford this August, creating 50 jobs.

The company will open at High Chelmer Shopping Centre on 5 August, one of four restaurants that are under construction as part of a food quarter revamp of the centre's Market Road entrance.

A central island beach shack bar will feature at the new site, along with a large raised dining and veranda area, plus a vibrant, tiled, open 'street kitchen'.

The menu will feature more than 50 authentic Caribbean dishes including signature dishes jerk chicken, jerk prawns, Turtle Bay patties, Trini doubles and curry goat.

Over 40 Caribbean rums will be stocked behind the bar, with two for one cocktails available between 11.30am to 7pm, and again after 10pm.
