Breakfast Group to open major new rum bar next month

The Breakfast Group is set to open a new rum bar, The Plantation on Duke Street between Mayfair and Marylebone on 1 September.

With over 200 of the world’s finest rums available under one roof, The Plantation will be one of the UK’s largest rum houses. The abundance of Latin spirits extends to cachaça, rhum agricole and mezcal.

Signature cocktails will include Mary’s Pickled, Grasshopper Deluxe and Daiquiris made with sugar, hand-pressed on site for extra zing.

Bar snacks and small plates are designed to complement each cocktail. The site will serve up regional delicacies such as Edible Grasshoppers, Brazilian Cheese Buns and Molasses Glazed Pork Ribs.

Manager Samuel Jeavons’ experience includes London Cocktail Club and Barrio Group, and Sydney’s revered Grandma’s Rum Bar.

The Breakfast Group's current portfolio consists of Salvador and Amanda Covent Garden, Salvador and Amanda Bloomsbury, Opium Chinatown, Jerusalem, The Social and Bar Rumba.

The company was founded in 1991 by Eric Yu and Connie O'Donovan.
