Servest buys Catering Academy to strengthen its catering division

The facilities services group has acquired Catering Academy Ltd in a strategic move to grow its catering division.

Catering Academy is an independent catering company that has built a reputation for bringing innovative solutions to a wide range of catering and ancillary services for the business and industry, education and healthcare sectors. Formed in 2004, the company operates nationally and works with a significant number of blue-chip organisations.

Servest says it initially approached Catering Academy in 2015, believing it would be a good cultural fit. It sees the acquisition enabling it to expand and develop its catering presence in the education sector in particular. The company’s founders, Louise Wymer and Kevin Cannon, and the senior management team will remain in place to facilitate a smooth transition.

Commenting on the deal, Rob Legge, Group Chief Executive Officer UK and Europe at Servest, said: “The acquisition of Catering Academy forms a part of Servest’s growth strategy and will help develop our already successful catering division. This decision demonstrates our commitment to boosting the group’s footprint in the education sector and will enable us to offer additional expertise to our clients. I look forward to working with Catering Academy’s senior management team on assimilating the business into the group.”

News of this move comes just days after Servest’s announcement that it had bought building services firm Arthur McKay.
