Nestlé pledges to recruit 3,000 young people in UK & Ireland by 2020

Nestlé has pledged to offer at least 3,000 new employment opportunities for young people in the UK and Ireland by 2020. The firm has made the commitment as part of its wider Nestlé Needs YOUth campaign.

It has already launched apprenticeship and graduate roles in food manufacture and confectionery, IT apprenticeships and the groundbreaking chartered manager degree apprenticeship scheme.

The company has also made changes to its academy recruitment process to ensure maximum diversity, enabling candidates from all backgrounds to progress through the system.

Dame Fiona Kendrick, chairwoman and chief executive of Nestlé UK and Ireland, said, “Nurturing young talent is one of our core beliefs and at the heart of what we do.

'We have been very privileged to have many young people join us, learn and build life-long careers with us. It is important that we continue to lead the way in helping to support and develop the young talent of today to become the future leaders of tomorrow.

'Opportunities such as apprenticeships provide a fantastic first step on the employment ladder.”
