Premier Inn wins big with the public at British Travel Awards

Premier Inn has been chosen by the travelling public as the UK's best economy hotel brand, in the 2016 British Travel Awards, for the third year running.

The independent British Travel Awards has recognised the performance of leisure, travel and visitor attractions in the UK since 2008 and its awards are based on public votes.

Team members working for the hotel chain, which has over 740 sites and 60,000 rooms across the UK, were at the awards ceremony when the announcement of their win was made.

Simon Jones, Managing Director of Premier Inn, said, 'To earn a British Travel Award once is brilliant recognition but to win three awards in three years is a huge honour. Thanks again to everyone who has stayed with and voted for us.

'Premier Inn's success is built on our team members. They make sure guests enjoy a consistently warm welcome, high standards of hospitality and great value day in, day out and I am really pleased this has been recognised by members of the public.'

British Travel Awards' chief executive, Lorraine Barnes Burton said, 'Premier Inn is to be congratulated on winning UK's best economy hotel brand. Competition was fierce this year with more companies entering the competition than ever before - but ultimately it is the travelling public who decide the winners by voting for the travel companies they consider the best in the business.

'The British Travel Awards is the largest awards programme in the UK and to win is truly an accolade and testament to the great products and services travel companies offer to their customers.'
