Lidl continues expansion with new Scottish distribution centre

Supermarket budget chain, Lidl is set to build its new Scottish distribution centre in Eurocentral, just outside of Glasgow.

While work is underway on the new 624,000 sq ft site, Lidl has taken up temporary residency in the 122,000 sq ft Titan building in Eurocentral.

The group is also opening two new warehouses in Wednesbury and Exeter, while expanding its RDCs in Newton Aycliffe and Runcorn.

Its new Southampton warehouse is the size of ten football pitches and is the biggest of the German retailer’s ten UK regional distribution centres (RDCs).

Since coming to the UK in 1994, Lidl has grown consistently and has more than 640 stores in England, Scotland and Wales.
