New M&B pub-restaurant set for Fife

The development of a new Marston's family pub restaurant is now underway at John Smith Business Park in Kirkcaldy, Fife.

The new 150-cover pub-restaurant is due for completion and opening to the public in June 2017.

Marston's Inns & Taverns (part of Marston's PLC), which bought the 0.6 hectare site at John Smith Business Park in 2016, will bring key amenities to the business park.

The £2.7m development that is set to benefit local residents, visitors and local business users will employ around 45 full time and part-time staff.

Adrian Blackburn, Acquisition Manager for Marston's, said: 'The development is set to feature a new 150-seater individually designed premises with a 57-space car park, as well as external seating terraced areas, a children's external play area and beer gardens. The Carvery and traditional menu will offer freshly cooked food during the day and in the evenings, seven days a week.

'The new pub at Kirkcaldy will be called the 'Spiral Weave' and will be our 14 newly built family pub restaurant in Scotland, since opening our first in 2013. We have great hopes for our investment in this part of Fife, and we are delighted with the success of the family pub restaurant and lodge at Fife Leisure Park, Dunfermline. We aim to continue to invest in the area and we will hopefully follow this with investment in 2017/18 at Dalgety Bay, too.

'If we are able to complete all three locations, each representing in excess of £3m inward investment into Fife by Marston's since 2014, it will create more than 135 permanent new jobs, and well over 600 new jobs across Scotland in three years'.

The site benefits from having a particularly prominent position close to the entrance to the Business Park, as well as being close to the main Kirkcaldy West junction on the A92 and Central Retail Park at Chapel Park, immediately to the south.
