Brakes wins big at inaugural Chefs Choice Awards


Brakes got a high five at the inaugural Chef’s Choice Awards ceremony, scooping up five ‘Winner’ prizes in the competition judged by chefs for chefs. The company also collected seven ‘Highly Rated ‘accolades, making it a night to celebrate.

The 2017 Chef's Choice Awards aim to shine a spotlight on operators that can demonstrate quality, innovation, creativity, value and great taste delivery in their frozen, fresh, chilled or ambient products.

Brakes took ‘Winner’ awards for its:
Ready to Serve Continental Cheese Selection in the cheese and dairy category; Muscavado & Speculoos Cheesecake in the cheesecake category; Cold Smoked Salmon Portions in the fish and shellfish category;
Tomahawk Steak in the beef sector; Venison Lasagne in ready meals.

‘Highly Rated’ awards were presented for its:
Granola Topped Blackcurrant and Goji Berry Roulade in finished desserts; Japanese Karaage King Prawn in the party and buffet category; Panang Chicken Curry in ready meals; Slow Cooked Hickory Smoked BBQ Beef Brisket in ready meals; Beef Rib with Salt and Pepper in the beef sector; Brakes Tuna Carpaccio in fish and shellfish; Continental Cheese Selection in the Product of the Year category.

To top off the night, Brakes was delighted to see the New York Bakery Company Croll seize the ‘Winner’ award in the bread and morning goods category as the product is lined up to join the Brakes portfolio next month.
